How to Choose a Lamp

The two questions we are asked most: how tall should the lamp be, and what size shade fits it. For a bedside, look for a base around 40–50cm; for a console, 60cm and up. Then choose a shade roughly two-thirds the height of the base, wide enough at the bottom to hide the fitting.
