An open five-pointed star made from lengths of natural birch, the bark left on so the pale silver and the dark markings both show. Handmade enough that no two are identical.
Hang it on the tree, on a door, or from a window catch. It sits happily with greenery and cones, and it is not remotely fussy about being put away.
